Ms. Sherri Miller
Sherri Lynn Miller is a 2004 homeschool graduate of Calvary High School. She participated in band alongside Opp High School and earned spots in various honor bands and the Alabama Blue and Red All-State Bands as a flautist. After high school, she attended Troy University where she earned her Bachelor of Music Education degree. While at Troy University, Ms. Miller participated in the "Sound of the South" Marching Band, the Troy University Symphony Band, Sigma Alpha Iota, and the Phi Kappa Phi National Honor Society. After graduating with her bachelor degree, Ms. Miller completed her Master of Science in Education degree, also from Troy University. She began her teaching career at Montgomery Catholic Preparatory School as an elementary music and band specialist. She then went on to be the Director of Bands and Choirs at Dale County High School where she taught various bands and vocal ensembles. After four years at Dale County High School, Ms. Miller began to explore her other loves and interests in education. This lead her to teaching Special Education and Choir at Laurel Oaks Behavioral Health Center in Dothan, AL, where she taught for two years. It was her experiences here which got her started on the official career path pursuing her second love in teaching, which is Special Education. Ms. Miller is currently a doctoral candidate at the University of Alabama, working toward a Doctor of Education in Special Education degree.
Ms. Miller's hobbies include playing flute, singing, writing, crafting, and playing video games. She has two children, Mary Madilynn and Sean Claude, and a Ragamuffin cat, Tipton.
This is Ms. Miller's first year at Samson Middle/High School as a Special Education teacher. She is very excited to be a part of the Geneva County Schools family!
