I started teaching in August 2004 here at GCHS. Prior to that I was a licensed Social Worker in Family and Children Services at Department of Human Resources and Therapeutic Foster Care for 13 years. My experiences as a social worker serve me well in Family and Consumer Science classes. As a social worker, I taught lifeskills to individual families and foster children. As a teacher, I continue to teach lifeskills. Along with teaching, I am the Advisor for the Family, Career and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA). In FCCLA, I have been able to help students compete in STAR events at FCCLA State Leadership Conferences in Montgomery and FCCLA National Leadership Conferences in Washington, D.C.,San Diego, California and Nashville, Tennessee.
I am the Family and Consumer Science (FACS) teacher. I have taught for 18 years. I have a B.S. in Psychology and Masters in Counseling. I was licensed as a Board Certified Social Worker for 15 years. I have 3 children (Patrick, Rachel and Sarah Jane) and 1 grandson, Rhett. I have been married for 33 years to Paul Fondren.
I am an Alumni of GCHS (Class of 1985) and take great pride in our school. When I am not at a ballgame cheering on the Bulldogs, I enjoy reading, scrapbooking, genealogy and taking naps.
